Wanted a board book version of this story for my two kids, ages 3yrs and 20 months. Read other reviewers' comments who suggested this one instead of the picture book version. While the illustrations are sort of cartoonish, they are cute enough. Story is simply told which is what I was looking for. And in a format that my kids could actually touch and hold without me worrying about pages being ripped.My only complaint is that my copy was listed as "used - very good"; however, there is writing inside the front cover (the first page of text) in the upper left corner (an inscription to a kid, the original recipient of this book). I tried erasing it w/ rubbing alcohol--didn't work in this case. Easy enough to just cover it with a glued-on small triangle piece of paper, which I'll then probably write a note to my kids. Just wish the seller had mentioned that obvious fact about its condition. But the price was right...

The Legend of the Three Trees. Now I believe this story has been told in a few different ways but this is the one we enjoy best. This story tells a lesson that we all need. Young and old. And that lesson is never give up your dreams and keep a positive attitude along the way. I won't spoil the story but it is fantastic. The art is this book is amazing as well.

This book is just what I was looking for. I wanted to read something during the Christmas holidays to my grand kids that would encapsulate the true meaning of Jesus and His love. Each tree has a desire or goal for their existance, but in the hands of a Savior, their desires are magnified beyond anything they could imagine. Perfect story!!

After reading the similar book by a different author, I appreciate the reviews of others who were aware of the different and more complete ending in this book. I was left hanging in the other book and felt like there was more to be shared, so I know most children would not have made the connections. So thankfully, Dahl Taylor told and portrayed the meaning of each tree as it relates to Jesus.

I love this story. A friend had this book and after reading it to a children's church class I had to get it for my daughter. It's a story about God having bigger plans for you than even you have for yourself. An amazing book!!!

This is an absolutely beautiful book. What a wonderful way to teach kids that though we have big plans for ourselves they don't always fit with God's, and His are more than we could've dreamed for ourselves.

Beautifully written. I'm glad I heeded another reviewer's recommendation and got this instead of A Tale of Three Trees. I had that book growing up, but this book (The Legend of the Three Trees) does a great job of explaining the application.

I love this story. It is one of the most inspirational books I have ever read. Each tree has high hopes for its future. Through the course of time each thinks it is destined for nothing great, in the end each tree has found its own true purpose. It is hard not to tear up when I read it to my kids. I LOVE this book and have also bought it to give as gifts.
